May 19th Grass grows slowly

May 19th  Grass grows slowly

Grass grows slowly,

Ever so slowly.

But when its warm and raining,

It grows lush and green…

Until the strimmer’s been,

And a grassy haircut seen.

Plants are the same,

Growing faster in rain.

Especially the weeds

Hurrying to grow their seeds.

But you can’t watch and see a plant grow

That’s because it grows so slow.

Trees grow big and strong,

And tall and branches long.

Full of leaf and fruit from blossom shoot.

But trees grow very, very slowly.

It takes them years to grow a few feet only.

(Not that trees really have feet… of course)

Babies, infants boys and girls,

They grow very slowly too.

You see, there’s no hurry to get where

You’re going.

Like the grass and the plants,

The animals and the trees,

Don’t rush, be at ease.

Grow as slowly as you please.
