8th May  Politics is

 

Politics is fascinating.

When there is so much going on.

When our country is in so much debt

And war and climate change yet

See no positive ends.

 

Sinn fein in Stormont control

Is democracy at work.

But will they stand together

Unity with impunity

Or refuse. To talk?

 

They were laying into Starmer today.

For a working lunch long ago

That is now called a party.

What?

Who is manipulating who?

Is the government pushing along

And persuading the media to prolong

Leaking the peeking through the window?

It’s very strange

That it still is news.

 

Trouble is

Us the electorate

Have our own opinions

But few political choices.

Perhaps we should have more

Voting for

Green and orange.

And a hung parliament forever

Forcing the government to work together.

(and then get nothing done)
